Port of Brisbane Closure – TC ALFRED – 03 MAR 25
We have received notification this morning that the Port of Brisbane has been closed for all export receivals since late Friday afternoon, 28/02/25.
In addition, the Harbourmaster has now closed the port to all vessels, meaning that anything due to arrive since Sunday, 02/03/25, will not berth until after the danger of Tropical Cyclone Alfred passes.
Only containers already discharged off vessels late last week will be available for delivery this week.
At this stage, we don’t know how the shipping lines will handle this situation. It may be that they decide it’s safest to send their vessels further south and bring them back after the cyclone passes, but we are yet to receive any advice on this.
We have also been advised that the Port of Sydney is experiencing high winds and operations at Sydney terminals may also be affected.
Our team will contact any customers directly affected by this situation and we will endeavour to keep you updated as further details become available.
